- Therstein Water - The name Thurstein originate s from the Ancient Norse, who settled in Coniston over a thousand years ago in the Dark Ages. Coniston Water was known as Thurstein and later as Thurstein Water. The Lake is fed by the same pure Mountain water as used in the brewery.
